Full mouth reconstruction combines restorative dentistry services like implants, dentures, crowns, and gum disease treatment to completely restore every aspect of your oral health. Sometimes referred to as full mouth rehabilitation, dentists typically recommend this dental treatment to patients with badly damaged smiles who require more than one treatment. Looking and feeling your best is important, which is why our restorative dentists provide comprehensive solutions to all of our patients living in the Oviedo, Fl area, regardless of the present state of their oral health.

Am I a Candidate For
Full Mouth Reconstruction?

/

Patients suffering from multiple dental health issues such as a missing tooth or teeth, significant tooth decay, worn teeth, old or failing fillings, or a broken tooth are good candidates for full mouth reconstruction.

Frequently Combined Treatments In a Full Mouth Reconstruction

In addition to restorative services, there are a variety of cosmetic dentistry procedures you can elect to include in your treatment:

How Long
Does Treatment Take?

/

Because no two patients’ needs are alike, a full mouth reconstruction could span a couple of appointments or several over the course of a year or longer. During your consultation, your dentist will take note of your needs and goals to create a treatment timeline. In some cases, multiple treatments can be performed in a single visit. We will do our best to consolidate treatments whenever possible to provide the best value for your time and money.

Full Mouth Reconstruction Recovery

Healing time varies from one person to the next. Meanwhile, a more extensive treatment plan will require more healing time. Your dentist will provide you with a set of post-operative instructions for each procedure you undergo during your full mouth reconstruction. If you require dental implants, for instance, you will need to wait until the implant completely fuses with your jaw tissue before moving on to the next step of the restoration process. This takes three to six months and depending on the stage of your recovery, you may need to eat only soft foods or take other measures to ensure that you heal properly.

Your dentist may prescribe oral antibiotics or an antimicrobial mouth rinse to prevent infections and promote quicker healing. Once your full mouth reconstruction is complete, one of our dentists will guide you through the best oral hygiene practices as you recover.

How Much Does a Full Mouth Reconstruction Cost?

Payment with credit card

While insurance will contribute to the cost of solutions such as dentures, gum disease treatment, and fillings, premium options such as dental implants are rarely covered. To help make any out-of-pocket costs affordable, we partner with CareCredit® and Lending Club. These financing options allow you to make low-interest monthly payments. Meanwhile, our staff will gladly work directly with your insurance provider to secure maximum coverage of your care.

What’s the difference between
a smile makeover and
a full mouth reconstruction?

/

In the simplest terms, a full mouth reconstruction is focused on oral health issues while a smile makeover combines cosmetic treatments to achieve an aesthetic upgrade. We can incorporate elements of either treatment into your plan, depending on your goals.
